Philipp Chrome is a German-born artist. At the age of 13 he started producing art, to embellish walls, that were unattractive to the public and to spread love. Fascinated about the impact, while sharing his art, he had one mission: take it from the walls to the canvas.
Over the years Philipp built a body of work, which varies significantly in motif, though consistently explores themes of love, sexuality and graffiti abstraction. He often draws on his experiences as a model and take quotes and visual cues into many of his works.
The artist primarily works in the urban environments of Leipzig and Berlin, using varied materials (including acrylic, spray paint, epoxies, varnishes and advertising) to subversively depict various iconic pop culture characters.
